Recently they published another Cloud Best Practices guide for GovCloud, called “Best Practices for Acquiring IT as a Service”.

This describes their recommendations for a number of building blocks that provide the foundation for safe Cloud Computing in the public sector, such as:

  • Contracting and billing
  • FedRAMP Security
  • IDaaS standards – Identity as a Service
  • Privacy and Compliance
  • Data Location
  • E-Discovery and FOIA access

The purpose of our guide is to showcase vendor solutions and how they match up to these requirements.

For example in this previous article we described how ‘E-Discovery Social Search’ is modelled – In terms of the application functionality and also how it would be deployed in line with the NIST models described in this Cloud Best Practices guide.

So this technology would provide a match for the ‘E-Discovery and FOIA access‘ category identified in the document. We’ll be providing an ongoing showcase of how other vendors and service providers match up the same way.
